Small Business Marketing Plan: A Practical Template

A marketing plan template designed for small businesses that need to prioritize ruthlessly. Not a 50-page document, a practical framework.

1. Define your ideal customer

Who are they? What problems do they have? Where do they search for solutions? What language do they use? Be specific.

2. Audit your current presence

Where do you currently show up? Google? Social media? AI tools? What's working? What's missing?

3. Set priorities

Choose 3 channels maximum. Trying to be everywhere means being nowhere. For most local businesses: Google Business Profile + website + one social platform.

4. Create a content plan

What content will you create? How often? Who will create it? Be realistic about capacity.

5. Set measurement criteria

How will you know if it's working? Define 3-5 metrics you'll track monthly.
